SGA (small for gestational age)

As you both know, my appointment last week was not as good as expected. According to the ultrasound and fundal (belly) measurements, we're booth looking more like 27 weeks than 30 weeks. We missed the cut-off for Intra-uterine growth restriction (IUGR) by only like 5%. Dr. Davis is concerned that the underlying cause of the small size is that the pre-eclampsia is coming. My blood pressure was up slightly and it sounded like there might be a little bit of protein in my urine. We also did a non-stress test (NST) and that went very well. All of these things give us a baseline that we'll track to over the next weeks. The course of action is:

31 weeks (this Friday at 3pm) - Growth ultrasound, blood pressure, protein check and NST.
If all that goes well...
32 weeks - Blood pressure, protein check and NST. Plus steriod shots for lung development.
33 weeks - Growth ultrasound, blood pressure, protein check and NST.

If all goes well, then we'll lay out the next few weeks from there. So glad I got to see you guys on Saturday and thanks for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. As you can see, she's small, but she's beautiful! PS. That limb you see in the first picture by her nose is not an arm, but a knee!
